SPAIN Discovery Tour
Full itinerary of the May 2020 tour
Day 1 - 3: Sevilla
We meet in Sevilla on the 18th of May and check in at our hotel by 6.00pm.
The next day we visit the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, built for the Christian king Peter of Castile. We walk along the Guadalquivir river and enjoy the view of Torro de Oro, along Plaza del Toros. Stroll or enjoy a boat ride at Plaza España, visit Triana and dine in the Santa Cruz quarter.
Day 4 - 5: Sevilla - Cordoba
Leaving Sevilla, we stop at Carmona with its ancient fortress, allowing breathtaking views over the countryside.
We continue to Cordoba and explore its historical centre. A walk across the Roman Bridge, past the Gate of the Bridge, which was once the entrance to the city.
Enjoy an evening dinner with Flamenco show.
You will have the option to visit The Bell Tower, Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos (Spanish for "Castle of the Christian Monarchs").
Day 6 - 7: Cordoba - Granada
After a guided tour of the Mezquita (Mosque) in the morning, we drive to Granada, at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
We visit Albaicín, famous for its whitewashed buildings and narrow cobbled streets, and the Granada Cathedral.
The next day we visit the stunning Alhambra fortress, and there is some free time to explore Granada.
Day 8: Granada - Ronda
Leaving Granada, we visit El Caminito del Reyes and the surrounding lakes.
In Ronda we stroll into the town's Alameda del Tago park, visit The Plaza de Toros bull ring and The Puente Nuevo ("New Bridge"), and hopefully catch a nice sun set, weather permitting.
Day 9 - 10: Jerez de la Frontera
Today we drive through the heart of Andalusia, home to stunning mountain landscapes, perfect picnic spots, and the regions’ most famous pueblo blanco ("White village"). We stay within the Jerez region.
Visit of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and the famous Sherry Bodega for a tasting.
Relax at one of the finest beaches of the Spanish Mediterranean Coast.
Day 11 - 13: Barcelona
We leave for Barcelona and arrive in the afternoon.
We go on a guided tour of the famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral and tour the Park Guell, all works of the most ground-breaking architect of the 20th century, Antoni Gaudi.
Other visits include The Ramblas, Port Vell and Passeig de Gracia (the Champs Elysees of Barcelona) with various shops and little restaurants. We'll also see La Pedrera and Casa Batillo, more of Gaudi's architectural marvels.
