Full itinerary of our SEPTEMBER 2019 tour

Day 1: Meet in Avignon

You arrive in Avignon, where we start our tour.

We relax in our hotel in Avignon.

Day 2: Baux - Carrieres de Lumieres

Excursion to Les Baux de Provence et les Carrières de lumière. Les Baux-de-Provence is a very
picturesque medieval village at a fortified rocky site between Arles and St Remy-de-Provence.

After lunch we visit the famous “Carrieres de Lumieres”. Admire spectacular images and sound displayed on the cave walls inside the huge cavernous quarry.  After this exciting day, we drive back to Avignon.

Day 3: Pont du Gard

Free morning in the beautiful city of Avignon.

In the afternoon, we explore the Pont du Gard, a true masterpiece of Roman architecture.  Built in the 1st century AD, as a three-level aqueduct standing 50 m high, it allowed water to flow across the Gardon river. This is a site not to be missed!

Day 4: Uzés - Cucuron

Today is market day in Uzés and we will be there!   This is in the heart of the town. The little streets off the “ Place aux Herbes” have beautiful shops selling luxury products and gorgeous fashion.


Next we head to Cucuron where we stay in a beautiful big farmhouse and unpack for the week.We will be pampered by our hosts, making us delicious meals.  Time to relax and enjoy.

Day 5: L'Isle sur la Sorgue

Excursion to L’isle sur la Sorgue with an amazing antique market,  a meeting place for bargain hunters and collectors, holding the record for the oldest flea market and antique fair.

We return to our beautiful farmhouse in Cucuron.

Day 6: Cucuron

After our wonderful day of sightseeing yesterday it’s time for a morning relaxing and enjoying our beautiful villa. Stay in bed for a sleep in or relax by the pool.
We are happy to take you to one of the nearby towns and villages if you want to explore.In the morning you have the option of going to the market in Tour D’Aigues.

Day 7: Ménerbes - Gordes

Another beautiful walled village to explore today, Ménerbes, made famous by British writer Peter Mayle.  Fortunately the village coped and as a result took advantage of its new found fame and influx of tourist money opening new boutiques and restaurants. 

We then continue our travel to the village of Gordes.  At sunset and early evening the village lits up by the setting sun, this is spectacular as the stone buildings turn into a soft gold.


Day 8: Rousillon

Today we take a trip to Roussillon .  Situated in the Luberon, at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse, the village of Roussillon is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Roussillon is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. After a walk through the picturesque hills and the lovely village, you will have the option to visit the exquisite Abbey de Senanque. 

Day 9: Cucuron

Relaxing day at the farmhouse, enjoy a glass of wine by the pool.
Free day for shopping, relaxing, exploring at your own pace and leisure.

Day 10: Lourmarin

Today we drive to Lourmarin, which has the biggest market in Vaucluse. Lourmarin is a market you would come to for a memento of Provence, somewhere you might be tempted by everything and nothing. When your eyes and shoulders tire, this is Lourmarin, so head to the centre for a coffee or a glass of rosé. 

Day 11: French Riviera

After a delicious breakfast, we pack up today and drive to the Riviera, the last stop on our trip.

We visit Cassis, a very old fishing port famous for its cliffs and sheltered water inlets. Cassis is like a mini version of Provence and the Mediterranee mixed together. So lots to enjoy and to do.

Day 12: French Riviera

Another fantastic day out on the water, we hop on board and enjoy a cruise on these natural wonders.
We drive to La Ciotat via “la route des cretes” (weather permitting) which offers amazing sightseeing on the Riviera.

Day 13: Marseille

We will enjoy our breakfast together on the Riviera and we drive to another Harbour city,

Marseille, where we will spend our last night together.

The next day our tour concludes, happy travels!
